Born in Salem, New Jersey, but raised in Hampton, Virginia, Siani has the hustler's mentality of a big city girl mixed with the sweet charm of a Southern Belle. As the second oldest of four children, Siani spent her youth surrounded by musical and artistic talent. Her father worked as a songwriter and music engineer to help support his family. At home, the sounds of RnB legends like Lauryn Hill, Erykah Badu, Kem, and Carl Thomas always played in the background, helping to form the soundtrack to Siani's life, while subtly influencing her future career decisions. Is it prophecy when at the age of four X-fiya was seen on stage by her grandmother blowing kisses to the assembled  parents in her kindergarten class? The show hadn’t begun yet and she had already seen a vison of what was coming in her future. Picture that and then fast forward 18 years into the present and witness X-fiya beginning the show by introducing the world audience to her song “I get it”. 
The song is a fitting nod to her stage name as she spits with a cadence, self-assurance and self-penned lyrics the Hip Hop pioneers would be proud of while seamlessly weaving the verses into a melodic R&B harmonized hook. Her grasp of both genres is masterfully on display. Her facility with both genres is something that comes along once in a generation.

"When I wrote the song 'Hold Him Down', I put myself in the shoes of having a solid person on my side. The way I expressed myself in this song is the type of energy I would give to somebody if I knew they were doing right by me. I feel like relationships can come with a lot of surprises both bad and good so it’s important to understand each other and have trust. Being with someone and not ever having to doubt them can be hard to find, so if I get that special somebody ima definitely "Hold Him Down", says Mariana

“Hold Him Down” is about that special person that makes you feel on a whole other level. That special someone puts you high that you don’t want to lose that feeling or moment, you know that you’re gonna do whatever you gotta do to hold that person down through whatever. It’s about having a solid person, and holding your position as their backbone and their support, backing them in and through whatever season in life while letting everybody around know what your position is.
